The song “There is a Redeemer” was running through my head while driving to work, and I made up another chorus for it… Something like-a-this:
Thank you, O my Father,
for giving us your life
For blessings of food and cloth
for nation, children, church, and wife.
For reference, the “normal” chorus I’m familiar with goes like this:
Thank you, O my Father,
for giving us Your Son
and leaving Your Spirit ’til
the work on earth is done.
Both are good. I feel like we could do with less lyrical repetition in our songs, so this is a step forward in my book.
