“How I Learned” by Shamus Young

Do you ever feel like your schooling was a waste of time? Not through school yet, but can’t see how it’s doing any good? You, good sir or madam, are not alone.

Shamus Young has written what he terms “a single long anecdote” about his experiences growing up, especially focusing on education. You can find it for free on the web, or listen to the “book on tape” recordings I made. Either way, it’s a good tale, and I stand behind what Shamus says.

His suggestion is essentially: let parents teach their children however and whatever they want. I couldn’t agree more.
